WM Bagster® – Available for eligible residents in 31 MMWA member communities in Saginaw County.

Mid Michigan Waste Authority (MMWA) is pleased to announce the availability of a limited supply of FREE WM Bagster® bags. Bagster® is the simple and convenient way to tackle your home cleanup projects. Residents must reside in an eligible single family home or up to a fourplex multi-unit in one of the following Member Communities:

How much can a Bagster® hold?

The Bagster® dumpster bag is strong enough to hold up to 3,300 lbs. of debris and has a capacity of 3 cubic yards or 606 gallons.

What are the dimensions of the Bagster®?

8ft long, 4ft wide and 2’ 6” height.

What is acceptable in a Bagster®?

Flooring, Plywood, Tile, Bathtubs, Cabinets, Trim Materials, Doors, Drywall, Insulation, Construction Debris, Packaging Materials, Windows, Sinks, Plaster, Carpet, Roofing Shingles, Paneling, Siding, Demolition Debris, Toilets, Screens, Household Junk, Broken Toys, Bikes, Rugs, Carpets, Lawn Furniture, Old Luggage, Wooden Furniture, Metal Furniture, Heavy Debris, Asphalt, Brick, Concrete, Sand, Rock, Grill (without propane tank); Exercise Equipment (electronics removed).

What is not acceptable in a Bagster®?

Electronics, Hot Materials, Asbestos, Propane, Chemicals, Railroad Ties, Fluorescent Bulbs, Toxic or Hazardous Waste, Fuel, Liquids, Medical Waste, Paint, Oil, Food Waste, Tires, Batteries, Appliances, Water Softeners, Water Heaters.

Do I have to pay to get my Bagster® picked up?

Yes. The Bagster® itself, approximate retail value $29.99, is free. Residents are then responsible for the cost of collection. Payment for your Bagster® bag collection and disposal is made to WM at the time you schedule your pickup. You can schedule and pay for your collection online, or by phone at (877) 789-BAGS (2247). WM accepts all major credit cards in the United States. MMWA is not able to schedule your Bagster® pick up for you.

What is the cost for Bagster® collection?

The cost to collect the Bagster® is approximately $200.00. However, for a limited time, MMWA residents can use the code 100-MIMWA to save 15% off your Bagster® bag collection.

How long does it take WM to collect my Bagster®?

Bagster® pickups are scheduled Monday through Friday from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. Typically, collection is scheduled for within the next five (5) business days.

How do I get my Bagster®?

Call MMWA and provide your name, address and phone number. Once we verify your eligibility, one per address, MMWA will make arrangements for you to come to our office to pick up your Bagster®.

I am contacting WM to collect my Bagster®. Should I call WM if I have a collection question or concern about my regular trash, recycling, or yard waste?

MMWA handles the curbside collection of trash, recycling and yard waste for single family homes up to fourplexes in our 34 Member Communities. Residents in those communities should continue to call MMWA with questions about their curbside trash, recycling and yard waste collection. The MMWA program has specific rules and guidelines and multiple providers. Beginning in 2023 each Member Community selected either carted collection provided by WM or manual collection provided by Priority. The City of Saginaw provides recycling and yard waste collection for its residents. MMWA is your one stop for questions about services, how to set your materials at the curb and any issues with your collection. Please call MMWA at (989) 781-9555.

Why aren't MMWA Member Communities in Gratiot County eligible?

At this time, WM’s coverage for this program does not extend into Gratiot County.

Bagster® bags are easy to use dumpsters in a bag that are strong enough to hold up to 3,300 pounds of debris or waste.
